Question Other Than Outlook

I have an Axim 30. Work will NOT allow Outlook. We use GroupWise 6.5 for e-mail and calendar operations.

I need to use some sort of contact & task program other than GroupWise - I liked the Palm Desktop best.

Any leads on: how to sync with GroupWise for calendar and something else [Palm Desktop for instance] for a nice contact list, remembering that we can't use Outlook?

I've tried Intellisync but can't resolve the contacts/task problem.

I just went thru that. I tried everything, but nothing works like Outlook. Some people use mnotes, companionlink, xtndconnect, the list goes on. If you find something that works please share w/the others. Try doing a search as well.

Don't you use GroupWise's address book? Can't that be your contact database?

Also, in GroupWise calendar, you can create tasks to manage your to do list. Everything you need should be available with GroupWise.

You shouldn't have any problems syncing GW with your X30. If you do, try GroupWise PDA Connect, available from Novell's web site.

Hope this helps!

I'll definitely try this. Do you use activesync or Intellisync?

I use a combination of ActiveSync and Novell's GroupWise PDA connect. I had difficulty syncing my mail and contacts with ActiveSync. Everything else works fine. I use the Novell software for these two groups.

Good luck!

One hint in GroupWise concerning tasks: When you look at your calendar in the GW client, you see three buttons on the right side immediately above the calendar. These buttons show/hide appointments, tasks, and notes. Just make sure you are showing tasks in your calendar views, and you should be good to go.
