I have a new X51v with A06 installed, and ActiveSync has been having the same issue since day 1. When ActiveSync is newly installed on my computer, the two will sync just fine for about a day or two. Then, randomly, when I put the Axim on the cradle, the computer makes the noise like a USB device was just plugged in, the two networking computers come up in my system tray, but ActiveSync will not engage. The green circle will not light up! If I uninstall ActiveSync and delete the program files folder and then reinstall everything, it will work again for a few days...but after that...same problem again!
I am currently working with ActiveSync 4.1. I also tried 4.0 but the same problem was happening. I have also tried stopping all apps on the Axim before putting it on the cradle as well as doing soft resets at various points. Nothing changes. I have installed no weird software other than a few things that came on the Axim CD. Has anyone else seen this same issue and figured out how to fix it? I feel like I have tried everything! ![]()

I've had a similar experience. Turns out I wasn't pushing the Axim into the cradle far enough. It would be enough to get the "ding dong" sound but not enough to get a good connection.
Try again and make sure the Axim is sitting tightly in the cradle.

Do you have firewall software active? Some firewalls or virus protection software will affect Active Sync.

I do have Mcafee installed for firewall and virus, but I have made exceptions for the activesync files on the firewall. I have even tried totally disabling the firewall completly but still the same issue... ![]()

Ok i think i can help with at least half your problems, (having just fixed it myself) 1. Unplug you PDA 2. Uninstall activesync 3. Use -Startmenu -Run ,"regedit" -find,"activesync" delete ALL instances of active sync from the registry, using the F3 key to "find next" 4. Delete all files in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync" folder 5. restart computer 6. Install activesync 4.1 7. Insert Pda back into device 8. check that your IE and Outlook are both up to date, and in Outlook go to - tools - windows CE inbox transfer, does this work? for me it gave a missing DLL error, i googled it and found a DL site

This may seem like an obvious question, but why now??? I was running my X30h with Activesync 3.8 at work and never had a problem from the first minute. Now, I have my shiny new X51V and Activesync 4.1 and I, too, am getting the occassional no-sync - probably caused by my work's firewall. Did 4.1 add some new security measure that makes it ore difficult to maintain a connection or is this just a big flaw that is making my brain hurt????

One thing that I found in order to pinpoint the problem was to uncheck all sync options (in active sync window - tools, options). And then one by one add the calendar then sync. Add the contacts then sync, etc. There could be a conflict with one of the options. Mine was with favorites. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to sync, especially when in a hurry.

I went back and did just that. My issue was with favorites, also. It had an "unresolved issue" but couldn't resolve it! I unchecked "Favorites" on the sync options and it seems to be working OK. It's still frustrating. Activesync 4.1 seems like a huge step backwards from 3.8. I set up my X30h and 3.8 at work in about 10 minutes, including mNotes. It took me over 5 HOURS to get everything to cooperate with 4.1, my x51v and mNotes today.
