Activesync issue support code 0X85010014
Hi,
I am a newbie to Axim. I have been using iPAQ 3660 for 6 years now. 2 weeks ago I bought a x51v with A01 and upgraded to A06 and also upgrade ActiveSync to 4.1.
I have problems sync with ActiveSync after I upgrade the rom to A06 and 4.1. I was able to sync all the outlook stuff include email before the upgrade.. Now I always received a error status support code 0x85010014.
I can explore the device and installed programs but cannot sync..
Please let me know what to do..
thanks

Hi YolaTengo,
I tried what you said but is still does not work..
I reinstalled ActiveSynce 4.1 again and still does not work.
I actually went further to do a hardreset on my AXIM after that and try re-sync with a new partnership ( deleted the old device) and it does not work.. it still shows the job code status.

You may have to archive your outlook data, completely uninstall Outlook and ActiveSync, delete the Outlook folder from which Outlook ran before, same with ActiveSync. Then re-install Outlook, and ActiveSync. I also recommend ActiveSync version 4.1. I blame Outlook for 99.9% of this problem. If you search the forums and Knowledge Bases for Support Code 85010014, you will read that, whenever someone gets around this problem, it usually involves re-installing Outlook.

Zoandar,
Thanks for the advice but the laptop belong to my company which makes me hesitate to re-install Outlook as I will need IT folks to help..
Anyway, for those folks still search for a way to sync PIM .. I found that I can use Bluetooth.. I manage to setup the Bluetooth link between my laptop and the PDA followed the steps posted by "dpicts"
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showp...23&postcount=1
Or you can go directly to here
http://www.dpicts.com/axim
Now I can successfully sync the Outlook (email, calendar, contacts, task) between the PDA and my laptop without hassle and a peace of mind ..
I will leave the USB sync isues until there is a easy way to fix.. will not try USB sync as it does not work for me
thanks for all the advice and help

Support Code 85010014
Support Code 85010014 means that there is a problem with Outlook when you are trying to sync.
There are tons of posts about this error code, and I read a lot fo them when I had the exact same error code setting up my Axim for the first time 3 weeks ago (BEFORE I learned about, and applied, the A06 upgrade). What I had to do was very aggressively eliminate the existing Outlook installation:
1- Archive my entire Outlook Personal Folders to a PST file.
2- Uninstall Outlook completely
3- Delete the Outlook folder from which Outlook had been running. This could vary if youhad Outlook installed all by itself, or as a part of Office. Do a search in Windows Explorer for "outlook". You should find the folder that way.
4- Uninstall Active Sync
5- Delete the folder Active Sync was running from.
6- SHUT DOWN ( NOT Restart) your PC. (There is a difference.)
7- Start your PC back up, and install Outlook and ActiveSync again.
8- When you get things going again, you can Import your PST file back into Outlook to get everything back.
By doing that, I was able to get rid of the Support Code issue and sync successfully. If you still have problems, let me know and I can tell you a few even more aggressive steps to give Outlook more amnesia when you uninstall it. It is quite adamant about coming back with the same settings it had before, and it gets these from all over your PC. If one of them was causing the problem, and it gets restored, the problem comes back too.
Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, a lot of what I read about the Support Code issue and not syncing went some thing like this: " I can sync at home, but not at work...."
Not to knock the IT crowd (but perhaps some deserve it :) -- When the problem revolves around Outlook on a corporate PC, I'll bet it always has something to do with some setting they used that is uncommon to household Outlook installations. Until these IT folks get a handle on the situation, the problem won't likely go away any time soon. What you need there are IT techs who are responsive and listen to your ideas and problems. Personally, I never met one. But I don't think you'll solve the problem without an Outlook overhaul. Sorry.

I had this exact problem ( worked at work but got the error at home) the solution was in another post here on the site. It was to delete the mobile device on the AS at home and let it find it again and it loaded everything up and has worked ever since.

How I beat Support Code 85010014
Hi Yanwolf.
I just sent you an email reply and attached the 4 page Word DOC file that is an article I wrote on all the steps I took to get my Axim X51v to sync without the dreaded Support Code 85010014 error. It has many more steps than those listed in my previous post.
I'd like to make the file available to everyone, so I have posted it in the
Articles / Tutorials section. It is entitled:
" How I beat the Support Code 85010014 error setting up my Axim X51v"
To anyone who uses it, please be prudent about backing up your files that you wouldn't want to lose if something goes wrong. I won't be held responsible for anything bad happening.
Good luck!!
Zoandar
