Question Question: How do I sync an entire folder?

Hi, I've got an X51v running WM5 A01 through AS 4.1.

In AS, I see the option to create a folder called "Files" to create a folder than will synchronize files between the desktop and PPC. This link appears to only be available to sync files between Built In Storage and the desktop.

Is it possible to create a link between a CF/SD card folder and a folder on the desktop, syncing the documents in each, instead of linking to BIS? If so, how?

i dont know about the x51v, but my setup which uses x50v wm2003se is as follows:

using CardExport, i connect my handheld to my desktop, and both the SD and CF card are "mapped" as external drives.

then using a Windows-based utility like "FileCompare" - i have it configured to sync them.

which means, i have the exact copy of my SD/CF card in my handheld in the desktop...

kinda beats regular backups, right?

Also, look at the freeware MobSync which will synchronize directories in any location, not just "RAM" (a la My Documents in Win2003SE) or BIS in WM5:

I do not have an x51v as you do, but have seen other posts confirming that this software works on your device.

And there's also Mighty Sync. It costs about $5 and does sync whole folders that can be located anywhere on your pda, w/files or folders on your desktop.
