ActiveSync with more than one Outlook

While I know that this is possible, I need some advice on organizing my contacts/calendar and tasks prior to attempting it. I have a fairly full schedule (personal) and I'm not certain that I'd like it on the exchange server at work. :-( Also, my contact lists need to remain distinct as they are both quite large. Any orgainizational advice or setup tips out there? A missed step during the initial sync could be disasterous.
