ActiveSync cause windows XP crash

I bought a new Axim 51V on 1/6/06, then I installed the ActiveSync on my IBM T30 Thinkpad laptop, which is running Windows XP SP2.

Whenever I run the ActiveSync to sync up with PDA Axim 51V at this Thinkpad laptop, the windows XP simply crashed, and it displays a blue page with some white text errors, it seems a core dump. As a result, I can not run ActiveSync at all at my laptop. But when I installed ActiveSync at my Windows 2000 desktop, there is no problem to sync up.

I like to use laptop to sync up my Axim, what should I do? Any thoughts?

The below is the message I got when I sent the error report to Microsoft, this error only happens when I try to run ActiveSync at my windows xp at laptop. Is it really a device driver issue as described by Microsoft? It never happen before....

Getting exactly the same error message. Finally got my X51v - installed activesync 4 (which removed v3.7) - left my old PPC username and created a new one for this PPC. Now every time it tries to sync it crashes the PC. Any ideas guys as it would be useful to know what this problem is? And this other guy has been waiting for 4 days for a reply?

I only had this problem when trying to sync when plugged into a USB hub, never when connected directly to the PC.

This issue makes me sick, I do not know should I abandon my lovely laptop or lovely axim? They simply do not work together. Is there a way to get some help directly from Dell technical support. Do Dell technicians visit this site?

I have managed to sync my Dell X51v using the USB snc cable on my laptop with NO problems so it must be something to do with my main pc & driver conflicts with it & the Dell Axim X51v. Shame so the only compromise I have found is to sync my old Axim X30H 624 with my main pc then sync that to the laptop & finally sync my Axim X51v with the laptop - what a palarva but it works now!!!

, I am also experiencing the same blue screen error when I dock my X51v to my W XP SP2 PC. However, when I purchased it docking was no problem. One day I docked as normal and it crashed giving a stuck in thread error. I tried using a different firewall (was Norton, now ZoneAlarmPro), even hard resetting my Axim (painful) and restoring my PC to factory settings (much more painful). As I don't have another PC to sync to anyone know of a way round this? Thanks!
