ActiveSync 4.1 & Citrix...

Hi All ,

My company are about to go to Citrix for their desktop solution and I was wondering how I will be able to Sync? I use a Laptop and dial in from home using an ADSL line with CISCO client to secure the VPN, the question I have is (as hopefully someone else does this):

#1: Will I be able to Sync in the office (and at home) or will I need to install a Citrix Client on the Axim as well (and if so what does this mean?

Thanks Avid :approve:

I have an older x3i and connect to out corporate system via a Citrix client installed on the PDA with no problems. If I can access any wireless point, I can connect with the Citrix client. For Citrix system users, I think you can get this PDA client for free from their site. Out IT guru installed it for me,, and it has worked flawlessly.

Also, it depends on the Citrix server the company goes with. Metaframe XP was not (to my recollection) capable of allowing you to sync (USB passthrough) via activesync over an ica conneciton, however I believe Metapframe Presentation Server is capable of doing this.

That said, you make it sound as though your company is going with Citrix as a complete desktop solution ... as in you will be using thin clients?

Hi there,
My experience right now is that the Axim X51 cannot successfully connect and synchronise to a Citrix Metaframe that runs over a windows 2000 server platform.
I have no problem with connecting an axim x3 to citrix using either activesynch version 4.0 or 4.1.
I connect the device and synchronisation occurs.
I cannot however, connect an Axim X51. Citrix just does'nt seem to be able to recognize the hardware. Any help?
