How do you sync Tasks?

I have an Axim x50v. I sync at home using the Guest Partnership option and I sync at work via wifi to our Exchange server. I keep seeing posts that a/s 3.8 allows you to sync tasks but it isn't an option on my Axim. There's only calendar, contacts, & inbox. I installed the newest a/s at home, my guest partnership pc, but I was never prompted to update the Axim, nor is there an option under add/remove programs to install a/s 3.8 to the handheld.

What's the deal? This is literally keeping me up at night!

Thanks in advance for any help.

The ActiveSync versions apply only to the desktop ActiveSync, not the AS on your Axim. As far as I know, you need to create a regular (i.e., not Guest) partnership to sync PIM items such as calendar, contacts, etc. Have you tried that? Also, did you make sure that "Tasks" is checked off under the Sync settings?

Wow! fast reply, thanks.

No, there isn't an option to select Tasks on the Axim. Only calendar, contacts, and inbox.

You select Tasks on the desktop ActiveSync not the Axim. I believe it's under Tools - Options (in AS v3.8); make sure it is checked and to configure it, you can highlight it and click on Settings. I'm not 100% sure as I'm at work and don't have AS installed here, but take a look.

I'll check that at home - I'm at work too. Do you know if I have to set up the other partnership to enable tasks. I know you have a choice between guest and ...something else...typical maybe? I can't remember.

Again, thanks.

You need to be registered to a new partnership! "Guest" has fewer options....also try this:
One thing that I found in order to pinpoint the problem was to uncheck all sync options (in active sync window - tools, options). And then one by one add the calendar then sync. Add the contacts then sync, etc. There could be a conflict with one of the options. Mine was with favorites. I know how frustrating it is to not be able to sync, especially when in a hurry. HOWEVER....you're gonna have to get a new partnership going first!

Thanks Kevin,

Will try that tomorrow. I guess I could break down and buy a new cradle...but the feeling of defeat!

Well I'm stymied. I've tried just about everything but I can't sync tasks. I've ugraded to AS 4.1. It was the usual pain in the neck to reconfigure the partnership with my home pc, but with a little futzing I got it working. I deleted and recreated my partnership to my home pc (standard) and my wifi connection at work, (Exchange Server). I disabled the enabled the items to sync at work one at a time...BUT NO TASKS! Everything seems like you can make it work if you just spend the time but this annoying problem. I can't believe that synching Tasks is not considered a priority to people who use a hanheld device, but Microsoft's support of this alsmost non-existent...

Anyone have any other ideas? I feel like I'm going to end up buying a second cradle, but wifi is just so much more convenient.

Have a look within Outlook ... I believed Task is in there. Look for sync options. I don't have a PC to verify right now ... vacation. I'm posting with my x51v.
