Question Lost AS cd; need advice on download

Hello all. After four months of not using my Axim X5, the battery died and I lost all my data. I want to recover my contacts from my laptop by using Active Sync, but discovered that my Active Sync software cd (that came with the Axim) is packed away in storage...somewhere.

SO, I need to find a download that will work well with my Axim X5, which is still running the originally-installed Microsoft Pocket PC version 3.0.11171.

Please advise me of the AS version that will provide the best match to my nearly 3-year old Axim X5, AND the best website for obtaining the download.

Thanks very much.

Activesync is a Microsoft product and can be downloaded from Microsoft.com
The latest version is 4.1 and should work just fine. The software is backwards compatable.
If you are looking to use network syncing, then you will have to use the 3.8 version.

Hope this helps. :approve:

I think ActiveSync 4.1 is the newest. I would think it would not have any trouble working on your X5. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ivesync41.mspx

Thanks for your replies. One further question...should I attempt to upgrade my Pocket PC operating software? Thanks again, MRhebergen
