Something must be better than Activsync

Is Intellisync any better than Activsync? There must be something better and less complated than Activsync. I just want someting that works w/o spending hours trying to trouble shoot something that I know very little about. I would dearly embrace the thought of paying for something that truely works.

What pda and what operating system do you have? What version of active sync do you have? What problem are you experiencing?

Welcome to Aximsite.

Axim 5, 2003Microsoft Intel (R) PAX 225 Version 4.20.1081. Won't sync. I have use Activsync 3.7, 3.8, 4.0. I have disable Zonealarm and reconfigared Activsync in Zonealarm "Program control." I have installed and uninstalled Activsync many times. I have installed and unstalled the only program that I want to work with many times. It seems that the only program that I want to work is the only one that will not work. I am at a loss of patience.

Well the first thing is you have to roll back to 3.8 b/c your OS won't work w/anything higher. Doing that isn't easy. You have to do a search here on the site for instructions. There's a specific method to do it. It took me awhile to figure it out myself. Next, what happened when you tried to sync, did you get an error?

Ocasionally I will get a "merge information queue" after syncing is complet but information is never transfered from the PDA to the PC. Do not recall any Error messages. Will Intellisync work?

Intellisync works thru active sync. Nothing works w/o active sync. Intellisync and it's competitors just add additional functionality to active sync but they won't work if active sync doesn't work.

Ok, here's the plan, Jerry, you don't mind if I call you Jerry? Find the thread on this forum that shows you how to properly downgrade to AS 3.8. Make sure you do it the right way. You'll have to go into your desktop pc's registry and delete some files. Once you find the thread it's easy, so don't worry.

Then install 3.8 and right down everything that happens. Now, I'm not an expert, but I'm willing to help if you put the effort in. Write everything down. If you get an error on your desktop pc the ideal situation would be to print the screen. Get a free print screen utility somewhere, or at least write down the error code.

There's no reason we can't get this to work.
