Partial Syncing of Contacts Data

I've been using an X51V for two months. With ActiveSync 4.0 and Outlook 2002 (as provided with the device) everything worked smoothly. However, when my desktop machine at work was upgraded, and now runs Outlook 2003, I find that all sorts of weird errors occur with ActiveSync. Specifically, it chooses to read only a random subset of Contacts entries from the device into the desktop. Worse still, it may then decide to delete the 'missing' entries from the device on a subsequent Sync. Tasks and Calendar seem to be transferring both ways OK. I've browsed through a lot of the existing posts on ActiveSync problems etc. but can't find anything quite like this. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I have the same problem after upgrading Outlook xp to Outlook 2003.

Did you ever fix this problem?

UPDATE:

I fixed my problem. The anniversary field had something like this in it:
耇耇耇耇Ā耄ď耄¿ Ē耄Ē耄®
Needless to say, that didn't sync very well. I had to go through all my contacts (98) and change it to "none". Check all your fields in Outlook and remove anything that looks funny.

Hope this helps.
