Unable to Start Synchronization

I run Window XP Home Edition on my PC. I have a Dell Axim X5 running Windows Mobile 2003SE. My version of ActiveSync is 3.8. Tonight when I attempted to sync, I get the following message; "synchronization cannot be started because you are not able to log onto the network and access information. Restart your computer and sychronize again. If proble persist contact your network administrator." I have been syncing my Axim on this computer for years without problems. The only change I made since last syncing was I installed a new version of McAfee Virus Scan and McAfee firewall plus last Friday and this is the first I have attempted to sync since then. I am listed as admiinistrator on this computer. Does anyone have an answer on how I can get this device to sync? What do I have to do to the computer? Thanks for your help.
