I tried WM2005 on my X50 and because of the need of ActiveSync 4.0+ to be installed, I upgraded my PC to v4.1. after about a day or so, I decided to go back to WM2003SE. that was fine, but I wanted wireless syncing. I then downgraded ActiveSync to v3.8. I then had issues with ActiveSync and the USB cradle. I found a post here that fixed that issue. now, when I try to sync via wireless, I get the following error on the X50 in ActiveSync:

"Cannot start communications with the desktop adapter. Reconnect your device. If the problem persists, see Microsoft ActiveSync Help."

I did a hard reset and once I did that it worked, but I don't want to reinstall everything. I have internet and network access on the X50. anyone have an idea how to fix this? thanks

nevermind, I got it fixed. I had to do another hard reset, restore with Sprite Backup and then sync with the cradle. what a pain in the butt.

Hey I have that error message too! I tried a hard reset and reinstallation of activesync 3.8 too but my problem isn't fixed. Can someone help?

I have an x30 that previously synced with my dell laptop. I am able to access my home wireless network--I can get on the internet and read my email but I cannot sync. I think I've tried about every solution out there but nothing works. Any suggestions?

My god, I can't believe it. All this time the "allow ethernet connections RAS" box was unchecked. Take home message? When you think you've tried everything go back and start over once more!
