Hi all
I am totally frustrated - for 3 days now (and with the help of this site and other Activesync troubleshooting sites found via Aximsite) I've been trying to synchronise my calendar/contacts/tasks via USB (and even Bluetooth) on my new X51v. A complete waste of time.
I don't know how many times I've removed and reinstalled Activesync 4.1, removed and set up new partnerships, hard reset my device. It connects and lets me install programs but won't let me sync. It keeps saying Connecting (on both the Activesync screen and the Axim screen) then sometimes it will say Synchronizing (and either Looking for changes or Synchronizing folders) but it is not actually syncing anything. It will sit like that until the cows come home or I get a 'The server could not be reached. This can be caused by temporary network conditions' error code (0x80072ee2). I have tried EVERYTHING - it was a breeze with my X30 and it looks like I'll be going back to that. Any help greatly appreciated.
best wishes

I finally worked it out - even though ZoneAlarm has been configured properly to accept ActiveSync it was still blocking it. I disabled ZA momentarily and it synchronised in about 2 minutes flat! Then I put ZA back on again - a bit of a cumbersome workaround but a workaround nonetheless.
best wishes

Glad you got it worked out and thanks for posting your solution. I'm sure you're not the only one who's had to go through this. I'm going to move this to the ActiveSync forum where more people are likely to look when they have an AS problem.
I have done all the same things as Farshooter and still cannot sync anything form Microsoft Outlook. Can someone please, please help me??? I have uninstalled, reinstalled ActiveSync 4.1 numerous times, done the hard reset, deleted partnerships, etc., etc., etc. Nothing seems to work. I continue to get the error 85010014. Please help.
I have the same problems as the original poster.
I just tried to sync with zone alarm completely shut down.
No luck.
I am very uhappy with this device.
Been a whole week trying to fix this.
Requested an RMA already.
I have the same problem 1 month ago and I finally found out someone successfully setup using Bluetooth for ActiveSync 4.1 to work .. I followed the same step .. Here is the thread from me http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=114115
As far as using USB to sync, it still does not work for me but I am happy using Bluetooth as I can sycn Email/Calendar/contacts as well as installing program..

:realmad: Ditto. I've just purchased my new X51v with its snazzy Aximsite Senacase.
I've configured Norton Firewall.
I've scoured Microsoft's Help.
I've reinstalled 4.1.
I've Repaired Outlook 2003.
I'm at the end of my knowledge.
What have I missed?
What can I do?
Won't the ActiveSync experts come up with an answer?
How can I use my PDA if I haven't got my Calendar?
I'm going to try the Bluetooth workaround and disabling Norton.
Get back to you.

I have the same problem as MomGenie except my desktop doesn't have BT. I guess I am just screwed. I can't believe this issue hasn't been resolved yet. I guess it will be included in the WM5 A02 for X50v.... LOL Yeah right!
:activesyn <-----Sucks!

I'm having somewhat similar problems. My Axim X51v syncs at home just fine with my ThinkPad. I bring it to work and have a second cradle setup here with AS 4.1 installed. When I put the Axim in the cradle, I get the syncing sound, but no access or indication that the Axim and the desktop are truly sync'd. IOW, I can't sync.
I recall reading somewhere that Dell has a proprietary USB driver that is on their OEM CD and also on their website... but I haven't been able to find anything in the Axim part of the site.

Sorry to hear that so many of you are having a hard time synching. For those not on the x50 or x51, you might want to try using Active Synch version 3.8 as some have had trouble with 4.1
Good luck

I am having the same problem, new unit and won't sync.
I am having the same problem. Tonight I am going to unistall the software again, hard reset the axim, and remove/delete the moible/handheld device from the hardware.
Then I will reboot, re-install software and go through it all again. I hope it works this time. Sure is frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anyone else heard of the Dell USB Driver problem? I'd hate to think I was inventing something in my mind. However, I don't have any problems syncing with my home notebook... it's just my at work PC.
Is anyone else here successful with syncing to two separate PCs with a Axim X51v running WM5 and AS v.4.1 on both PCs?
