Intellisync and Active sync

Hello all,

I am trying to find out if Intellisync with coexist well with Activesynch.

See, my wife's Palm M505 crahed on her again just before her business trip Neitherless to day she is really pissed and asked me to find a replacement..

The issue is they aer using Lotus Notes 5.0.8 at work. The good news is that she is only synching agenda, task and contact, no E-mail.

I read that Activesynch (4.x) does not work with Lotus notes so if I get her an X51v (like mine) she wont be able to synch.

So, I am searching for a third party synch software to replace the Activesync.

Does anybody know if a solution exists between WM5 (X51v) and Lotus notes 5.0.8?

Thanks

Marc G

Activesync is a conduit software that connects a PPC with your computer (available for free from Microsoft). Normally you can only sync with Outlook with this software.
No matter what software you use to sync Notes, you will need Activesync to create the connection between the device and the computer.
I would suggest Intellisync Handheld Edition 5.5 which allows a PPC (including WM5) to synch with all versions of Lotus Notes (including 7.0).

Intellisync

Intellisync will let you sync with all programs and It takes over the syncing for activesync. It let me sync when activesync would not and kept coming up with an error message. It is quite flexible.
I am going to load Intellisync on my computer at the office and try it without even loading activesync. I think it will work

I was going to suggest the same. I've never used it but many here have said good things about it.

Birdbrain, I tried xtndconnect. I wanted to sync Act w/my Ax. Long story short, this was just a few months ago, it didn't transfer notes so I couldn't use it. If it transferred notes I would've used it. What good is syncing contacts w/o notes? I have to say their customer service was excellent. One of their guys spent over an hour on the phone w/me trying to get it to work. Just for that I wish it worked.

Gypsysmom let us know if Intellisync will work w/o activesync. That's fascinating - I'm very interested to see. Why do you use intellisync? Do you use something other than Outlook?

After my E-mail exchange with a tech from Intellisync, they told me that Intellisync needs Activesync to talk to the Axim.

Activesynch manages communications between the PPC and the PC. Intellisync tells Activesync what to exchange.

Same goes with hotsync on the Palm side of the world. Easysync needs hotsync to communicate between the Palm and the PC.

What you do is you do not select in Activesync anything to sync i.e. you do not select files, contact, Email, etc. You do this within Intellisync instead. Only one application decides what to sync.

Hope this helps
