ActiveSync 4.1 and Sygate Personal Firewall Pro

Hi All,

My Axim was synced good , but after i install the Sygate Personal Firewall Pro 5.6, it can not sync.

I tried these :

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...nc/sygate.mspx
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/acti...shoot-as4x.htm
http://www.modaco.com/lofiversion/in...p/t235073.html

It just got "Connected" but not sync.

event i set to "Allow All" on the firewall, it still doesn't sync.

If I exit the firewall, it woks good.

Please help me, thanks.

Hi All,

I made it. It can sync with Sysgate firewall now.

You just need to use a Registry Editor on the Mobile Device to change the following settings:

Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of the Value to add: MTU Type : DWORD Data: 1514 (Value is Decimal)

Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of the Value to add: MaxOutTransfer Type: DWORD Data: 1642 (Value is Decimal)

Because Sygate Security Agent requires the maximum transmission unit (MTU) for the network connection to be set to 1514 which is the same as the default for Ethernet.

You don't need to create any Rules.
It works great now.
Thanks anyway.
It is from here : http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/acti...shoot-as4x.htm

This fix solved all of my problems with ActiveSync and Sygate Personal Firewall (free version), whereas setting up access rules didn't.

It may be obvious to some people, but it should be noted that a soft reset is required after these registry changes are made.
