4.1 doesn't like spaces. Any spaces in you new device ID?

i have a feeling it might be my firewall or internet settings. what ports or whatever would I have to open up if i am using a usb cable for the PPC...though I don't even HAVE a firewall setup not even the windows firewall and I have a cable itnernet connection

Bummer. So alll you see is Activesync connecting with no additional prompts? I'd say a hard-reset is in order, and I rarely say that.

Disable the firewall if you can. It was found that some firewall do lock a port that Axim X50 and X51 uses for syncing. we had this issue at work and HQ issued a patch to change this. I can sync again.

Did you find a solution to your not being able to create a partnership issue? I have exactly the same problem. When I dock it connects, and then just stays in the "Connecting" mode which it never gets out of. I tried reinstalling ActiveSync 4.1 but same problem.
Only happened after I upgraded by X50v to Windows Mobile 5.0 and ActiveSync from 3.8 to 4.1
