I have an X50v with WM2005SE, AS 3.8.0, and Outlook 2003 - I use Pocket Informant for my main info manager. I can sync tasks, calendar, contacts (with all categories, etc.), and Notes typed on my Axim, but can't sync Notes I have created in Outlook or notes that I have scribbled/drawn on the Axim. If I create a note in Outlook, then try to sync, ActiveSync crashes and I have to reboot my computer. Same if I have a note I created in freehand on the Axim.

I tried creating a new .pst file, but that didn't work. Not sure what else to try. I sync via USB cradle.

Not a big deal, since I rarely create notes in Outlook, and I'm afraid to tweak settings or reinstall programs, since everything else is working OK (don't want to mess up things that aren't broke!). But wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to try.
