Activesyn and Internect Connection

Hi, I started to get this strange and anoying thing a little while ago and really can not figure out what the problem is. Whenever I put my Axim into the crandle, my desktop PC (which still use a modem for internet ) will open the dial-up dialog widown, trying to access the internet. I can not figure out which programe is trying to access the internet (hopefully there is no virus). BTW, I still use Activesyn 3.8. Can any of you give me some insight? Thanks

Your PPC is trying to use passthrough to the Internet. To stop it, in Activesync on the PC, go File - Connection Settings, and uncheck the option "Allow Network and RAS..."

(Of course once you do this, your PPC will no longer have access to the web while it is connected to the PC.)

A little belated update

I checked the setting of my Activesyn (Still version 3.80 build 5400) and the option ikehiker suggested was unchecked already so the problem is unrelated to this and still unsolved. Any more suggestions? Thanks

It could be that outlook on the axim is trying to connect to the net. Something on the axim wants internet access.
PS:
No viruses here, just programs that want to connect. AS 3.8 is the best version ever, and unless you have to upgrade, dont.

Thanks for the input and it is nice to know that AS 3.8 is the best version ever and it works well with my good old Axim X5 Advanced.

Is there a way to pinpoint the program that was trying to access the net? My firewall or PortExploerer programe on the PC site only tell me that the Activesyn is trying to access the net. Well, since there is no virus, I probably can live with it.

Thank again for your input

Outlook on the axim, other plugins that need to sync using the internet. IE: Weather Plugins, etc. See what programs are open on the axim when the internet connect box pops up.
