Microsoft seems to have done it yet again, my laptop automatically installs all critical updates for XP last time I synced with NO probs was 12 Apr 06 - only sync once a week normally (due to my pc not recognising my USB cradle for the Axim - blue screen of death etc... Won't go into that now as this approach now works (ie copy Outlook info onto a Mem stk then trf into my laptop & sync using that!)

Tried to do it today but it won't work. Activesync states it is "connecting" and the network connection is there but still nothing. On the X51v I have tried pressing "sync" but it just whizzes thro' w/o doing anything

Do I need to do a system restore on my pc??? Will try that next, I have already removed KB805031 or whatever it was that created the outlook probs I had on my main pc) but still nothing on the laptop

Tried checking the forums but can't find anyone with this problem - is it just me???

Done later ...

Have just done the system restore to 14 Apr 06 all to no avail. X51v still not recognising that it is connected to pc, each time you click on "sync" within 1 sec you see a quick flash of "connecting" then the bar goes across and that is it - it's as if it cannot see the laptop???

The laptop recognises the X51v instantly! Any ideas or should I just delete the p'tship - wipe the ppc clean & start again!!!

Later still ...

Have just done a soft reset - still no luck - seems the X5v no longer recognises my pc! Surely the USB cable can't have gone faulty in 1 week??? Plus my pc recognises a network connection @ 10Mbps - PLS help guys!

Is it just me or is Dell & Microsoft after me???

As an additional note - I have not updated ZA Pro nor any other security prog in the last week. Only updates were from M'soft critical updates. Now restored to post updates - still no luck! ZA settings not altered too?

Sorry for wasting everyone's time. Spent a couple of hours on this uninstalling things doing numerous soft resets. Finally after the 6th or 7th soft reset everything is back to its SLOW sync'ing "normal"!!! Thank god!!! Shame the X51v seems to have this prob (ie having to s/reset loads of times) never had that prob with my loyal X30H!!! So end of post!
