Such an annoying, complicated problem, and such an easy, rapid solution!

The first time I got this problem I had to download a temporary free trial of Zone Alarm Pro in order to arrange the complicated procedures suggested by MicroSoft and ZoneLabs.

I cannot understand why nor Zone Labs neither MicroSoft use this fantastic solution. Thank you and congratulations, Imaruse!

I just found another tip for using ActiveSync with Zone Alarm. In addition to making your Axim part of the Trusted Zone (and giving the AcitveSync programs access to the trusted zone), as listed above...

In "Firewall" on the "Main" tab, make sure that the security level for the Trusted Zone is NOT set to High. I changed it to Medium and my Axim now connects to ActiveSync 4.2 without having to shut down Zone Alarm. (I left the Internet Zone Security on High.)

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I thought it was worth it in this case.

Thank You very much, I had no idea it was this easy. I had been going crazy trying to figure this out! Even microsoft and other sites always went into useless details, but this was very simple.

Great and simple solution; I also came across the MS troubleshooting site which didn't solve much as I also use the Free version of ZoneAlarm.
