Ok, I have a new x51v. And my laptop is not detecting my Axim.I have again unistalled my AS from the laptop.
I have A06.

What do I do next?

Di I need to do the"fix"? Is it needed for A06 systems?

Do I need to upgrade to AS 4.1?

What else can I do?

Did you install the Active Sync from the disc included w/ your axim. That should be 4.1...I don't think the old version works with WM5.

One more thing, I think you still need to do the fake server trick. It can't hurt. Hope this helps.

The damn AS is not detecting the PPC thru USB. Hope the fake server trick works.

Does anything happen to your Activesync when you plug in your Axim? The last time my Axim couldn't connect, the Activesync just kept connecting but that was solved with a quick restart of my PC and a soft reset on my PPC.

Well I did everything. It synced once and thats it. May laptop detects my PPC but AS doesnt do anything. Will try to reinstall again and check.

Have you tried killing AS running in the background and then restarting it? Look for wcescomm.exe, this is AS running waiting for your PPC to be connected. MS in its usual wisdom decided not to give people the option to load AS on demand. Kill the process and restart it, this has worked for me in the past. Zone Alarm also had a real hard time with AS on my PC so you might try turning off any firewall. Good luck with it, AS problems are constantly being posted.
