syncing my My Documents to memory card
I googled on how to sync My Documents on my desktop computer to the SD card on my X51V when it docs automatically. Currently it creates a folder on my desktop computer, and what ever I put in there it syncs to My Documents in the main memory of the X51V. I'd like for it to go directly to My Documents in the SD card. Thoughts?

I tried this myself, but I don't think it's possible - but maybe I'm wrong ....
So, I do it by hand with 'cut-and paste' using TotalCommander ( freeware www.ghisler.com ). BTW: Welcome to the AximSite .... Just noted: We share the same birthday but not the same year ;-)

You can just use the Explore feature in ActiveSync or a card reader to manually copy your files to your SD. Card Export II is another way to copy files over. If you really want to sync to SD, try mobsync, which can be slow though:

I have used mightysync for a while now. Good piece of software, but does 'choke' on large files(word files especially) if trying to convert. It will sync fine without conversion.

I noticed in the sktools system tweaks list there is a directory that you can change so that instead of doing Active Sync to memory you can identify a different directory... I havent tried it, just noticed it was there. There was a comment which came up indicating some limitation. sktools is free... so you could try it (I haven't - I'm having some synching issues of my own and don't want to mess with this option at this point). I am thinking of trying Mobsync...

I tried the registry change a while ago, and found that it didn't actually work. ActiveSync would no longer Sync files properly. I think ActiveSync was still remotely looking at the My Documents folder, even though the device knew the sync was supposed to go into SD Card\My Documents. Or something like that. Anyone else play with this registry setting? From the page below, it appers to be a common issue, but there is another tweak on the site (linked from the discussion) which actually redirects the card to mount directly into My Documents, but that's not something I really want to be doing.
Here's the page from PocketPC Tweaks
