Irritating Outlook Foible

Hey gang, I'm asking a question that you'd think I'd know by now since I've had this X50v for a couple of years now, but I'm finally getting my fill of this particular issue and after 40 minutes surfing the forum today couldn't find a similar issue.
When I'm at home and have my Axim docked and plugged in, then open Outlook on my desktop (of course Activesync is running) and try to check or send/receive email on the desktop's Outlook, It persistently pops up the User name/Password authentication window with the field already filled in correctly. I press ok, then after about 2 seconds it pops back up and will not go away until I give up on checking my email and turn Outlook off OR unplug the USB cable to the cradle, then wait and check email. Any ideas?
Additionally, on another tack, when I'm at work and overnighting in the hotel and try to use Pocket Outlook (wirelessly), it downloads messages (POP3) seamlessly, but will not send (for replies OR new messages), it says to recheck email settings and try again. Is there a good link here somewhere that addresses exactly how the settings should be to make this work correctly? Thanks in advance guys/gals!

Come on, nobody? Too many, "Hey, I just ordered my Axim, I'm so excited!" posts to find this one?

Hey mooreman, I'm no email expert, but perhaps if you check your settings against this tutorial you might find the answer. Good luck.
