Has anyone had a chance to review this version?

This has been out for a couple of weeks now and I have been using it both at work and at home. Seems ok but didn't really notice anything working better. there were other threads about it and one of them had listed what was supposedly fixed, try a search for 4.2 beta
edit: put "activesync 4.2" with the quotes in the search box at the top.

Couple of weeks? Quite a bit longer than that (gotta love the "new" news, lol). It seems fine, I don't really notice a difference, still has some buginess of the 4.1.

I have had some benefits with using AS 4.2. I'm using an x51v and can now use my internet connection through the usb port, which is nice.
Also, you are supposedly able to sync with a MS exchange server, but I have yet to try this because I don't want to mess up what I already have set up.
One thing, though. I can't for the life of me figure out how to back up my data! I don't know if it's doing it automatically or what, but the help files seem to reference back to an earlier version of AS. Any ideas? I'm probably missing something (mentally).

Yeah, I remember seeing an announcement on here a little while ago. I don't remember who posted it though. Thanks for the heads up all the same. :approve:

AS backup only works on devices with wm2003 on them. It will not work with WM5. I am using Sprite backup but there is at least one other that will do the job but you have to pay for any of them.

Is the Beta version working for you? I may want to try it, for 4.1 and 3.8 are giving me a hard time, since my hard drive died last week. Thanks :)

It works great for me. Using it at work and home. By the way, I posted about this on 05-10-06, almost a month ago. Been using it ever since.
