Ever hear of This?????????????

Yesterday, out of the blue and with no changes made whatsoever, the 4.1 activesync application on my Dell Latitude/X51v began a continuous synchronization. This sucker won't STOP syncing...even when there are no changes. I can let the handheld complete a synchronization, momentarily display a "synchronized" message, then immediately begin another synchronization...absolutely no changes made to the PC.

Hard Stops and system reset have failed to correct this situation...I'm trying to avoid a hard boot.

Has anyone encountered this? Any Suggestions? (I hope this is something simple that I'm not seeing.....)

Thanks in Advance,
Jeff

Yes -- that was the first thing I did when I took it out of the box a few months ago...It worked normally for a while (until yesterday, that is...). I'm corn-fused!

Good luck. I've been fighting with Activesync (and losing) for 2 weeks.
It might be worth upgrading to 4.2, apparently it fixes a lot of problems.

I have been fighting ActiveSync also, but I am on my last leg. I cannot get it to work no way, and 4.2 does not help me.

Maybe there is something bungled in one of the datasets you are trying to sync from Outlook.

Try going into Tools>Options in Activesync on your desktop, unchecking everything, syncing, and then re-syncing, checking one data set at a time.

Or you could try running the "Detect and Repair" took in MS Outlook (under Help).

Or are you trying to sync a REALLY big file? Try syncing without that.

Delete the mobile device (file -> Delete Mobiel Device) and resync

Was there ever a definitive resolution for the continuous sync'ing?

I have been having this same issue since yesterday. When the e-mail is selected for sync, activesync loops and loops and loops until I unplug my axim. I have hard reset the axim, upgraded to A12, uninstalled AS, upgraded to AS 4.2, and blown out the pairing of the devices and still have the same problem.

On another note, I can connect my Cingular 8125 to the same PC and have no issues with this at all.
