Aximsiteactivesyncicon I fixed my connection problem...

Sorry.. this is a repeat as I originally posted this as a reply in another person's post but was afraid someone might not find it in there and since it worked for me, I thought it might for those having axim/syn connection problems.

Never posted here before, but I have been trying all these ideas to solve my Axim not connecting problem. I installed, uninstalled, repeatedly, with and without firewall, turned off avg, removed all the spyware from the startup list....

The solution for me was to rename my Activesync folder in my program files so that the install didn't recognize it and reinstall Activesync. I am using Activesync beta. I think that there might be a dll file being loaded over and over again that was interfering with the repair process. ???

Voila... my activesync finally recognized my axim and I'm happy again.

I did start getting the infamous 85010014 error message, and thinking it was an outlook problem, ran my office outlook in repair mode. It appears to be working fine.

Hope this works for someone else. It was VERY frustrating to have my X51v stop syncing completely.

Cool 8501004 Error - I kicked your a$$

Sorry - but i've been working on this for three days. I purchased my Axim x50 with Wi-Fi and what nots from Craig's List. At first i thought i had been had ( i still kinda think that - the seler probabaly had the same problems!)

Anyway - the good news - I found this site and I see i'm not alone

I step by step graduating procedures ("if this doesn't work, try this" - increasing in severity) I ended up in the belly of the whale: REGISTRY EDIT.

Check it out! Worked for me: http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/W...Case=obj(41810)

Unfortunately, I've also joined in the ranks of activesync problemers.
It wasn't like this coz I was able to sync.
However, I just can't seem to sync my unit just a while ago and I don't know why.
I've tried just about everything but nothing.

The activesync on my pc can't even detect its existence.
Anyone help?
