I am not sure if this will work for you but I had something similar happen to me twice on my x51v.

When you drop your device in the cradle a network device appears in your "Network Connections". Highlight and left-click properties. For some reason none of the checkboxes in the "This connection uses the following protocols" box were checked. I checked the TCP/IP and Microsoft network and hit apply and my Axim got an IP and started sync'ing.

Good Luck

YAY! It worked! Hard reset did the trick for me! I think that WiFi Companion that expired did something (I couldn't unintall it because the unintall list was blank, and I couldn't ActiveSync). Thats the only thing I did. Corrupted files is the other theory.

P.S. its not a connection problem, it connects fine.

I am having trouble with ActiveSync not connecting. I have tried some of the things suggested in several threads about Remote-NDIS Host and setting 169.254.2.1 and gateway 169.254.2.2. This allowed me to get a connection to my PC but not the internet. I know that I have a good PC connection because I can ping 169.254.2.1 from the command line and get a reply. When I go to my LinkSys WRT54X4 router and ping 169.254.2.1, I get no reply. No wonder I can't get a sync... I can't get to my router.

Has anyone looked at ActiveSync, router connection problems. Please note that ActiveSync and my router were working three weeks ago. Any suggestions?
