Hi

I've just changed jobs and my company have given me a new PC, the only problem is the PC is locked to installing new software (company policy) . When i try to install anything (software, printer drivers etc.) access is denied because i am not the administrator.

Can anyone help me?

Any help would be gratefully recieved, i just want to be able to have one common diary and set of contacts between home and work with the X50v sychronised to both.

You should contact IT for permission.

Call the help desk tell them you are critical down because activesync will not work. They don't know what software you need its not up to them what software is loaded on your PC. Its critical for your job function, would help to have your bosses okay but not neccessary. I can get almost anything installed by the IT guy that way. They still will not give me network access but there would be no harm in syncing contacts.

When that does not work get a bootable linux CD and format the PC's hard drive. Call the help desk and say your PC is critical down, can not boot. When the IT guy shows up tell him you don't know what happend and buy him a cup of coffee and a doughnut. Ask him if he would please install activsyc and maybe outlook (we use Lotus Notes). Remember they are critical for your job.
