Active Sync Slowness

So I'm new to PDA's/Synching and I am wondering if this is normal. I have about 700 Megs worth of Outlook Data that I started to sync last night around 6pm. It's now 8:30a the next day and it isnt even half way complete. I have the latest versions of ActiveSync (4.2) and running the A012 ROM on my Axim x51v. Should I be having to wait this long??

I am not sure, I know Active Sync is slow, and how can you fit 700 megs on your PDA? Is there a way to get that stuff on your SD somehow?

I am studying MS VB05 right now, so if you can give me any tips or need some help on something I would be glad to help(or try).

I am having the same issue. My X51V was working fine with the 4.2 Beta version of AS, when suddenly it has stopped synching. I have installed the new 4.2 version and we will see what happens.

There's an option to store attachments onto the storage card. I have an 8 gig CF Type II.

This is what I discovered. Activesync was working fine until a few days ago when it suddenly stopped synching with the pda. Try as I might, nothing seemed to work. I was running AS 4.2 Beta. So, I switched to new 4.2, but still no luck. The synchronization, like yours, took forever. It went over night and was still not completed in the a.m. Then I tried something. I have a Hewbrew calendar running on my pda from which I used to import a lot of Jewish holidays, etc into Outlook. I realized that had I previously imported these up to 2010, and that was probably why it was taking so long to synch. There was a lot of data. I went into Outlook, deleted the events en mass and then tried to re-sync. After a few minutes it worked and now sync's every time. I can always add back the Hebrew dates, etc, a little at a time. I have not gone back to the new 4.2 and I am still using ROM A06. I hope this throws some insight to your problem.

Thanks for the info. I figured it was to do with the large attachments in my email but I do need those attachments. I did finally get it to sync fully (left it running for 2 and a half days) and it still is able to sync fine. But it is still slow. I'm thinking that this is how it is and I will have to live with it...Oh well, the price to pay for a nice PDA that does what you bought it for :)
