Can't find my device on desktop but still can sync Outlook???

hi,
I've had my x50v for a couple of months and have recently come across this sync issue:

Basically, my PDA syncs with my computer (Diary, To Do, Contacts etc etc) but I can't find the device anywhere.

I've searched via the Activesync explore option and 'My Computer' and can't find the 'Mobile Device' icon that has always been there.

Any ideas what I might have done?

through a reinstallation, I managed to sort this out (kind of). I can now sync but not with a 'standard partnership' but as a guest only!

Any ideas?
