Why would you need to shut down just close it when you are done. Go to setting->memory then in the running programs tab stop activesync.

Actually no. It is an MS issue.
Many of the default applications and several 3rd Party apps on the PocketPC OS do not have an "Exit" command. Contacts, Calendar and Tasks are just a few.

That is why there are 3rd party tools, both free and $$. Personally, I use Magic Button 2.0.

The x50v comes bundled with a program called Switcher Bar which is accessed by going to Start - Settings - System - Switcher Bar.

It is a safe place to start while you research and decide (if you like) on a "task switcher" of your own.

I just told you how to get it back. Many programs stay running even if you press the x to close them and to shut them down you have to go to setting->memory then in the running programs tab stop them.
