Syncing outlook via wireless vpn problem

Once upon a time I was able to sync via my X51v wirelessly via a pptp vpn connection to my work network. However, that changed when I upgraded from rom A06 to A12. Before I had upgraded I had backed up my device to my sdcard, and after rom upgrade sought to restore the backup, but A12 viewed the old backup as being non-WM 5.0 so it only restored the portions from My Documents, thus my previous connection settings were lost.

If I remember correctly, I had in the dim past set the unit up so that when I had a wireless connection I could select activesync that automatically brought up my VPN connection to work, and would then sync with the exchange server. How should I configure activesync to allow this?

I found the solution (for me in the archives):

Click on the Connections Tab. Then Click Connections. Then Click the Advanced Tab. Click the Exceptions button. Then Click the "Add new Url" link. Enter "*/*" with out the quotes.

Once I did this, I could connect to our vpn, run activesync and Outlook would sync correctly.:approve:
