80004004 and 80004005 errors....

Hello, Im fairly new to this Axim X30 world here, only had mine for about 2years. I hadnt really had many problems with it until the other day when I put in some new appointments into the calender and docked the unit again and got a message stating that "THE FOLLOWING APPOINTMENT COULD NOT BE WRITTEN TO MICROSOFT OUTLOOK DUE TO ERROR 80004005. THIS ITEM WILL BE SKIPPED". I got the same message when I changed two of my contacts info, except the error number is 80004004. Ive tried the detect and repair function inside of microsoft office outlook. But that never worked. I dont even use that program for email. Do I even need that program to use the X30? or can I just delete it? Im pretty much computer illiterate here, so I dont know how to trouble shoot all that well. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, just try not to make it TOO difficult for me to understand.

Thanks Alot.

This is sort of a bump for this thread with hopefully some new info that will help others.

I too was getting the 80004004 error while trying to sync my axim x30 with Outlook. It started after I had downloaded/installed the Companion Link Google trial software. Using the scanpst.exe did nothing. After playing around a little more, it turned out to be an easy fix and may be of use to others.

What I did:

1. Disconnect Axim and closed ActiveSync window (Outlook was not open)
2. Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get Task Manager
3. Killed OUTLOOK.exe (program process still running from earlier??)
4. Killed rapimgr.exe (don't know if this helped-saw something about it on another site)
5. Reconnected Axim and sync'd

From there everything went smooth.
