x561v Connects but no activesync....

My new 51v will not sync.....

I was able to initially sync with my pc yesterday when I installed 4.1 but then could not get it to re-synch later or even now.

When I cradle it-it connects but will not synch, even when I manually click the sync button. The device disconnects after about 40 seconds and when I click the active sync "get connected" on the computer it searches and comes back stating "Your device was not detected" It shows COM1 and USB available but mentions to check my plug connections which are fine.

Windows firewall is set by work network to accept activesync and Ihave had no issues with my Ax 5 that I uninstalled to install my new AX51V. We have Trend Micro Scan for our virus scan on the network.

Question-If I have been able to synch previously it would suggest it is not a firewall issue correct? Even though I am not trying to connect to any network and my old AX synched fine? I have already uninstalled this yesterday and reinstalled doing a hard reset on the device before I could get an initail connection and synchronization with Outlook/contacts.

The web help in MHO sucks and has not given me any other options.

Any ideas?

1. Install ActiveSync 4.2.
2. You aren't correct it's not a firewall issue. AS 4 and AS 3 are different from firewall's point of view. (AS4 -- WM2003 and AS4 -- WM5 are different too!) Moreover, some of them even monitor executables to see if they have changed. So, temporarily disable your firewall and see if that helps.
