McAfee upgrade causes ActiveSync not to work

Many PPC users are discussing how there AS no longer works, after installing McAfee's latest update/upgrade. McAfee has admitted there is a problem that interferes with ActiveSync 4.x. This is a recent (last couple days?) upgrade, where current McAfee subscribers get a pop-up recommending they install this latest update, and they tout this as a major improvement. No actual fixes yet, though some people say that uninstalling and rolling back to the earlier version of particularly M Antiviral & Security Center softwares seemed (not sure) to help.

Just wanted to give everyone here a 'heads-up'. Please paste the url in your browser, there were several Axim owners discussing this issue.

I know this answer is of little help probably with your ActiveSync issue, but McAfee for me has always been a real pain to keep running without errors. I switched to MicroTrend's PC-cillin Security package and it was really solid. Check it out.

McAfee is famous for this stunt and thats why I won't use it. Last year they released an update for the Enterprise version we use at work and it knocked down ALL of our servers (Novell) and once the (1000 users) users could get it, it would not let their connections be cleared on the net servers. I can't tell you how much time and money that cost us. Not too mentional all the calls and complaints to IT from users that couldnt' get logged into the system. Their quality control seems to leave a LOT to be desired. Switched to Symantec and have no problems with this kind of nonsense.
