sorry but no there isn't really any good alternative. there are other programs which you can use but they use the underlying activesync to work so your problem probably won't go away. what symptoms are you having? If you have posted in another thread where is that so we can try to help.

Add2Exchange for Contacts (Advantage International, Inc., www.diditbetter.com)

Intellisync (Intellisync Corporation, www.intellisync.com)

Missing Sync (Mark/Space, Inc., www.markspace.com)

MobSync (DooSoft, doosoft.seesaa.net/)

PDAsync (http://www.laplink.com/products/pdasync/overview.asp)

Peacemaker Professional (Conduits Technologies, Inc., www.conduits.com)

PocketMac (Information Appliance Associates, www.doctorce.com)

PocketMirror Professional for Windows Mobile (Chapura, Inc., www.chapura.com)

SyncExpress (Syncdata, www.syncdata.it)

Now, if we just could get some reviews from someone with actual experience.....

Here's the problem:
I can't synch my pda with my desktop. I've upgraded to A12 rom as well as ActiveSync 4.2. I did not have a problem with synchronizing initially but all of a sudden, they just don't talk. Oh...before I forget, I did notice that a week before, there were some events on my calendar that did not sync and I've no idea why. This latest episode led me to terminate the connection with my desktop.
I've tried reloading the ActiveSync but nothing. I've tried establishing a new link with my desktop but ???
Do I really need to do a hard reset coz I remember a while back before, I was forced to do that and it worked. But the problem seems to come back as you can see.
I've read some contributor's thread but I don't really understand some of the technical stuff. Is there a step by step thing for me to follow? I really don't understand how something so simple as in synchronizing can be rocket science?

I looked at all of those links, except the mac ones, and they all require that activesync be running and then they run on top of it.

Try going into your hardware settings and delete the Axim from the hardward list. Unplug it from the USB port first. Then plug it back in to a different port and it will probably re-detect and install and will then start up.
