Hi all,

I bought a new laptop, and installed the newest Activesync 4.2 When I connect, I can set up a partnership no problem, and sync files. When I unplug the axim and plug back in, it connects as a Guest only, and does not sync. Nor can I change the settings. If I delete partnership, it will again sync properly the first time, Guest only from then on.

What gives? I tried with 4.1 as well - same problem. I can't find an older version of Activesync to try with that. Also, soft reset did not help.

I've also got this problem, strangely enough after I deleted my Windows User Profile (Which included the local settings folder).

I tried instructions I found in another post ( http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...tivesync+guest ). It picks up my device, runs the partnership wizard and begins to syncronise. However, it gets stuck after checking what needs to be synced, halting the process on "x items not syncronised". If I disconnect my Ax, it then gives me the options to combine or replace, I select "Combine" and then Activesync shows me as not connected. The next time I connect, it comes up as guest.

Are those laptops home use of office use. I have seen this on Office laptop where the user wasn't part of the Local Admin group. If you have a firewall software try with it disabled.

If you have an axim x51v then you will have to use either 4.1 or 4.2 AS. You cannot use AS 3.8.

I've managed to solve it, some how

In the end, I think I unchecked almost everything I could for sync. Can't remember much more, after fixing it I went straight to bed and forgot about the process by next morning
