ActiveSync disconnect in about 5 secs
Hi all,
After pluged the PDA to sync with the Comp via sync cable, the unit is found and showing synchronisation is ok. Suddently, the sync is disconnected. Any of you having the problem of automatically disconnection after connected? Pls let me know how did you overcome such problem?
Ps. Activesync 4.2 ---- X51V
Have tried to re installed the Activesync, hard reset the pda... no cigar for me

I would first check settings of ActiveSync. On your desktop, open ActiveSync and check the following. Under file, check mobile device for correct name, check connection settings. Check show status, check allow USB, check and specify COM,specify what to connect to. Under options, under schedule, specify manually, auto, or on connection. Thats all I can think of.

I've had this problem, on two different PCs, ever since I got my Axim, in January. Nobody seems to know a reliable fix

Thnx for the inputs. Yes all these had been checked. All fine. I had tried to refresh every thing such as uninstall/ reinstall the Activesync and hard reset the PDA. No luck for me

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with 4.2 and an X50v. I tried going back to an earlier version of Activesync and still had the same problem. Microsoft has a section for this fault on their web site but the solutions did not help. Microsoft says that after installation of 4.2 it should show up in "internet connections". If it should, I cannot see it. If I run the diagnostics the first thing it says is it could be the firewall blocking it but as this had been completely unloaded I cant see how this comes into play. Hope someone comes back with an answer.

I have the same problem at my office only. The difference is that I use a usb cable at my office and the powered cradle at home. Put 2+2 together and you can see that the main difference is power.
As soon as your Axim connects, depress and hold the power button until the backlight goes off. You should now be able to stay connected using the usb cable.
I hope this helps,
Richard

The best way to get it sync via the cable. I had to insulate the 2 pins power, I then get it sync very time but sacrify charging via usb.
Hope this will help
