Constant Synchronization Errors

Ever since upgrading to the x51v, I've been unable to depend on my activesync connection. Sometimes it works and other times it connects and then I get synchronization error and other times the computer doesn't even recognize the device.

I am at a loss becuase this is happening on several machines. Although I can't depend on Activesync to connect to the machine, my excahnge server connects and syncs without a problem both via BT modem and Wifi. That works for my calendar, contacts, tasks, and mail but I still needs my notes and files. Plus, it's making it difficult to put files on my Axim.

Is anyone else having similiar issues? This is becoming rather frustrating.

Also, I'm not sure if this is related, but my Activesync is changing the name of my device to different combinations of my computer log in and my real name. Strange, huh?

I forgot to add what I've been doing in the meantime to get around this...

If I remove my partnership and start new I will be able to sync that one time. It is time consuming to do a 'first sync' everytime I need to connect to my machine and it's not at all convenient to fuss with Activesync everytime I sit back at my desk.

Please, what can I do?

Another interesting thing... although the Activesync window is giving me "Synchronization Error" the exchange sync is still happening and I can use explore my Axim using the regular Windows File Explorer.

The Synchronisation Error happens to me quite frequently and, as you say, the Axim is still connected. I found that a soft reset usually fixes it. Lately I uninstalled and reinstalled AS, and things are better.

I am also getting similar problems syncing and to temporarily solve this problem I also do a combination of soft resets, re-install activesync and a few curses.

This has only recently been very noticable. I am running ROM A12.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Although I am rather tech-savvy and can easily repartner my Axim and reinstall AS, I've set several very old-fashioned family members up with Axims and this may be beyond there technology skills to do on a daily basis. I hope that MS puts out a fix or Dell resolves the issue.

Meanwhile, I'll keep resetting and partnering and installing...

Do you have "PocketWeather" or other application that autoupdates from the web? I found that disabling my PocketWeather Auto Update resolved this problem (for now, anyway). I have a query into SBSH asking if they know of this issue or have a fix.

I've disable the Pocket Weather and although I am still getting the problem here and there it isn't as constant as it was. In addition, I am not having to repartner. SInce disabling the PW update feature, I've only had to reset the PDA.
