Mad Alternates to Active sync

I am having terrible time with active sync. Its not recognising my Axim51 after I reinstalled the software. I tried all the trouble shooting. I am seriously considering alternate options to active sync. Please help.

Do you have a firewall installed?

If you honestly tried All the troubleshooting (including trying a diffrent pc is possable) then open a support case with dell is all i can say. I dont know of a active sync alternative.

Yeah, my fiance has gotten it working through Bluetooh as well. She bought a $40 Bluetooth adapter for her laptop.

your computer or laptop needs to have BT. You can get an adapter (sometimes called a dongle) at Fry's for 10$ (at least this weekend in Austin). I'm using the widcomm update so I have to start the sync on the axim, but otherwise works fine.

There is an excellent tutorial on Bt that has a section on sync'ing with your computer.
For me, it has worked flawless all the time. (knock on wood)

Your computer/laptop has to have bluetooth. If it doesn't then you have to buy a bluetooth dongle which you plug into one of your USB ports. Usually the software for the bluetooth comes with the dongle.

Alas activesync is still needed, but you tell it to sync using BT. You do not have to have the usb cord connected at all. That seems to help alot of folks, in and of itself.

Icon14 My experience with active sync trouble

Hi guys, I was a victim of active sync trouble about couple of weeks back. I tried everything that is on microsoft website and in this forum. I have changed my firewall settings, network connections. None of which worked. I was thinking of hard resetting my Axim X51v. I have spb backup. I restored to about a month back and surprisingly activesync connected in few seconds.:approve:
