Can't Sync anything but Files and Favs

Dell Axim x50v
WM 5
Rom A01
ActiveSync 4.2
Outlook 2003

I also have Norton Systemworks 2006 which does NOT include Firewall upfront.

Any one have any ideas on being able to get my axim to sync w/ my lappie.

Is this a new problem or have you never been able to sync PIM data? Check AS settings to make sure they are selected to sync.

And you do have Outlook installed on your PC???

Don't get upset with me asking. I had a similar problem with a friend. He kept saying it wouldn't sync with his email. Well, I finally discovered he didn't have any Office products installed on his PC. He was trying to sync with his Web Based email. So I have to ask.

Are you using multiple Outlook profiles like the error message suggests? If you, it should be prompting you for the right profile when you synch (and also when you start Outlook). Try cradling the PDA without Outlook running (if Outlook is already running with the wrong profile you might get a message like this).

Or if your Outlook profile is password-protected like it suggests, remove the password (I'm not sure where that is set).

You can manage Outlook profiles by going to Control Panel -> Mail, and clickng the Show Profiles... button. Looking at the settings (including data file locations) for each profile might give you some clues.

If none of the above helps, try deleting your ActiveSync relationships (is that the right word? I'm still asleep). Also try deleting all Outlook profiles. Then set things up again. Deleting Outlook profiles won't destroy your appointments etc., but you will have to find the right PST file and your email server settings in order to set up the new profile.

sar840t2 hit it on the head. You need to change the profile name on your home pc to the same as the one you use at work or wherever you set it up originally. I had the same problem. the pofile is set up in the control panel under mail on your pc.
