Hello All - I am not sure this is the place to post this question, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction....

I've owned Dell PDAs for years, and love their reliability and durablility, in my work as a home inspector, my company currently uses x3's, which are synced from time to time to update software. But I am thinking about purchasing an x51, which I would need to synch on the same PC that we use to synch the x3's.

So my question is - can I have two activesync applications? The original one for the x3 and a current version for the x51?

Thanks in advance for your guidance - AND please feel free to let me know any other technical issues that I should consider while attempting to synch the two different models of PDA.

you'll need to upgrade to axctivesync 4.x for the x51v to work... but 4.x should still work with the x3

when I upgrade activesync to 4.x, which I assume will be supplied with the new x51, are there any known issues about using the older PDAs with the new activesync - especially since the older PDAs are on the original PocketPC OS (version 4.20.1081)?

I can't comment on compatibility of AS 4.x with the older models, but I would recommend getting ActiveSync 4.2 direct from Microsoft's website and ignoring what came on the CD (which is likely to be 4.1 or 4.0).

I know ActiveSync 4.2 claims compatibility with WM2003, but don't know about earlier OSes.
