Activestink vs AIM and MSN

It seems activstink and my IM messengers are at odds. Most programs requiering internet access have no problem connecting through activestink, yet all the IM's I have used refuse to connect via activesync. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone know a fix, other than the obvious "connect to your wifi Kevin1a you dummy"

Have you tried setting them both to login via a proxy server or something?
