Help!!

Hello Everyone,

I have an Axim x50v PPC and I am having trouble syncing with Active Sync. I am using ActiveSync 3.7 (as it is the version from the CD and I cannot find a newer version on the web that works with it) and I have uninstalled re-installed activesync and even done a hard reset on my computer and it will syhnce everything but my contacts, calender and tasks. Could anyone please tell me how to fix this problem? I would greatfully appreciate it. Thanks.

Yours Truly,

Matthew

Not too sure why you have a problem or what's happening. I'd be tempted to start afresh with a clean booted factory defaul setup Axim (cold restart), and a clean install of ActiveSync 4.2 from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...ivesync42.mspx

Yes, 4.2 is compatible with WM2003SE. Check the M$ web site for other requirements (with regards to Outlook versions, etc.). I am using AS 4.2 to sync my X50v.

Sounds like a problem with outlook. Also are your contacts in outlook or outlook express. If outlook is loaded, but you are using outlook express for your data, it will not sync.

I recently (well, within the last couple of months anyway) went from A\S 3.7.1 to A\S 4.2 and it works with my X50V that is running WM2K3.2. There are a couple of posts around here about it that you should be able to find on a search.

I'm using outlook for my contacts etc, still cant seem to find out what the problem is but I do think that it is with Outllook. It will sync everything but my contacts, tasks, and calender. Can't figure out why it is syncing my inbox. Very confusing, Very frustrating. I'm still trying to find answers. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

Just a thought but have you checked the options in AS to see that they are set correctly - I had a few problems and found it here; I hadn't changed anything but something went haywire and I had to reset them.

A fresh installation might be the answer I know some people had problems with AS 4.2, myself included, but I have had no problems with 4.1 - if you have problems and want to try 4.1 PM or email me and I'll send it over.

I had my PPC set up on Actice Sync set up as a partnership on another user on my Desktop. I then deleted that partnership and installed 4.2 on my PC but it still will not sync my contacts, tasks or calendar. I have no idea what to do except to do a hard reset and see if that works. I do have it backup with SPB backup but I may have to start from scratch and reinstall everything. I don't know if anyelse has had this problem but it is very frustrating. Anyway thanks for all the posts.

Yours Truly,

Mattathias
