Bluetooth sync with Vista
I don't know how many of you have tried vista, but if anyone has, maybe you can help.
Running Vista RC2, the latest windows mobile device center, and a toshiba branded usb bluetooth adapter. I am able to sync fine with a usb cable. But I have been unable to wirelessly sync my dell axim x30 pda with mobile device center through bluetooth. The pda runs windows mobile 2003. I have tried doing so with the generic bluetooth drivers windows installed with the usb adapter and also the beta drivers toshiba has for vista, same results. I create a partnership first in device center with the usb cable, and then I disconnect and either used the toshiba bluetooth settings manager or the control panel to find my pda and connect to it, which it does. However, when I go through the menus in my pda to create an activesync bluetooth connection, it also sees my pc, but after connecting with activesync I always get the same error- service is not running on the pc etc. I did this successfully on windows xp (I have a dual boot setup) with the same hardware, using activesync on the pc. However, activesync allows you to choose an incoming com port during setup that matches your pda's serial port settings. Is this the stumbling block with mobile device center on vista? I don't see any similiar option. The help file for setting up a bluetooth connection with mobile device center makes it all sound so easy. What am I missing? My pda uses com ports 7 and 8 for incoming and outgoing, and this can not be changed it seems.

Same for me...
![]() Vista Profesionnal edition and x51v don't seem to enjoy synching with bluetooth (which, honestly, is very very bad news IMO). Has anyone managed to find a way to make it work ? Mels

I had no problem
I 'm sorry I can't think of any particular instructions or steps I followed, but, in fact, my wife's X51V still had A01 on it, and I couldn't sync via cable (because I couldn't disable the advanced USB functionality), so I had to use Bluetooth and it just worked using Vista Business Final, WMDC beta 3.
I have since dual-booted into XP and flashed her X51V's ROM to A12, so she can now sync via cable. Of course, WMDC is now out of beta, as well.

Same problem here.
I have Vista Ultimate and an x50v running WM2003SE. My Axim and Vista recognize the partnership on BT, but it will not sync.Doug
