Well today my Axim X5 adv. just decided to stop syncing with my laptop. I click the syncrhonize button, and it comes up with the "connecting" thing, and then it just stops and says "not connected" I've tried a soft reset on the PDA and a reboot on the laptop, but nothing changes it. Does anyone know what's going on here?
I'm having problems syncing as well, starting within the last week. My x30 sits in its cradle and makes AS 4.1 pop up, but after AS does its little green rotating thing, the circle grays out and has a red box with an "x" in the right corner. Weird thing is that it lists my device as being "connected" (I can explore my device OK with Windows Explorer), but having a "synchronization error"... I'm hoping it's something on MS' end that is easily fixed.

Sounds like the same thing that's happening with mine, too! Also, on the PDA it says "cannot connect with current settings" Any help is hugely appreciated!
I've had problems like these in the past, what has worked for me (I'm using the older version of Active SYnc with an X5) is to delete my partnership through AS (without Axim connected).
The next sync will open a dialog to recreate the partnership.
This worked at least 4 times, and probably more.
Once it would not remedy the situation, and spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME tinkering to get it working. No luck.
So, when I was recreating my partnership I used a different name for my Axim and that worked.
What you suggested, uzziah0, worked for me. Thanks for the info in getting past this hump with AS. :rolling:
