Aximsitex50icon Keep loosing my partnerships with x51v

This is the third time in the last month that my office computer has lost the partnership with my x51v. I run AS 4.2 on my XP pro computer.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so how do keep it from happening again?

Is it by any chance renaming your device when you sync with the computer? For awhile I had a problem with computers renaming my Axim when I went to sync. This made my Axim not sync with my home computer because a device name change breaks the partnership.

I don't know how to get it back. Everytime I experience I just delete the old one and start a new. A real pain in the rear ()()

Had this happen on my home PC (WinXP SP2) yesterday for some reason.
I had to recreate the partnership to allow synch, pretty annoying as I was about to head out for a weekend away!

I had to reload and I kept PI. My PDA has been behiaving since. Here is the list of software I did not reload: PhatNotes, PocketWeather, News Break

Please note that I removed programs that interfaced with my ActiveSync in anyway. I've been free and clear of issues since. I'm not sure which one was the culprit thoguh. I'd load that again, but my Axim is running so well I don't think I wanna mess with the current load.

Do any of you use an RSS reader? I am wondering if this is the source of the problem? Especially if you have it set to auto-update everday you cradle your Ax.

My Ax is set to auto update.
I actually did a SPB backup and deleted the partnership, then created a new one and had it sync fine. A few minor adjustments to get it back to 100%. All programs loaded as before and has been running smoothly for the last week.
I'm crossing my fingers.

ActiveSync drops partnership & changes identity

Yes, I have been experiencing this daily as I carry the Axim 51v(06) from home to office. Each PC renames the identity and insists on setting up a new partnership.

I wonder if the (06) is the cause. I didn't have this issue with (01) ( but lots of other issues then)

SO, each time I bring the Axim51v home or to work, I delete the exisiting partnership on the pc, reinsert the identity on the Axim itself, and also delete the partnership on the axim too via the activesync icon on the Axim.

Karaxim, I was having this problem also, but notided that the problem was cause by old partnerships not really being deleted. I had to into Windows Explorer and delete a file folder that had my desired PPC name under the ActiveSync folder. This solved the renaming at each site issue that plagued me for about 2 weeks.
