Zone Alarm conflict ?

Anyone else having problems with Zone Alarm. I've got their free version running without any problems - then I got my X51v.

For some reason, I can't get activesync to connect with ZoneAlarm running.

if I shut ZA down, it connoect and syncs without problems. i can't see anything obviously wrong (there aren't any messages from ZA telling my of an attempt to connect, for example).

Any ideas as top anything I can do ? I can live with turning it of while syncing, but it is annoying.....

I had a similar problem when I got my first PPC and it turned out I had denied "Windows Explorer" permission to access the internet since I though only "Internet Explorer" needed permission to access the internet. If that isn't it, try setting all programs that may be related to Windows or Activesync to "ask". Then try to sync and see what permissions Zonealarm pops up. If that doesn't work, change all the applications that you have denied permission back to "ask" and try that. Good luck.

There is a thread here at Aximsite somewhere with instructions (a link to Microsoft actually) on how to configure Zone Alarm Secuirty Suite and there was a posting here at Aximsite just a few days ago that resolved configuring the free version of Zone Alarm for another user. Search.

I had (have) a similar problem. I was advised to remove Zone Alarm (not just disable, but full uninstall), re-install AS and then reinstsall ZA. It appears that ZA recognizes AS if it's already there.

It didn't didn't work for me, but I know that some posters have had success with this method
