I have been a vocal critic of the Outlook Connector and Office Live. There seemed to be no possible way to sync WM5 with Hotmail(MSN Premium) and Outlook 2003. As of today, I finally got it to work.
Here is what to do: 1. Disconnect your WM5 Device (Axim x51v) and upgrad to Outlook Connector 1.8.3501.0 and Activesync 4.2 2. Make sure that the Connector is working in Outlook and you can see our Hotmail mail, contacts, and calendar (may be office live feature only) 3. In Outlook, go to the tool menu, and then email accounts. Under email, go to view or change existing accounts. In the next menu, near the bottom, change “Deliver new email to the following location” to your hotmail or msn account name. (Apperantly this sets that account as the primary.) 4. Delete the partnership between your WM5 device and Activesync, else Activesync gives you an error that your device had been previously synchronized with a different account. You may still have to go to the options menu in activesync and change your email delivery location or just delete the old partnership manually. 5. Connect your WM5 device and sync. It should work, I created an appointment on my Axim and looked at on my calendar through hotmail and it was there! I then created an appointment in hotmail and it eventually synced down to my Axim with Outlook open. I can now finally say that Office Outlook Live is well worth the money and works great with a WM5 device. Hopefully when Outlook 2007 is out it will not take me six months to get it working correctly! Cheers, Justice_AA

Basically, I needed to upgrade my Outlook so I chose Outlook Live since I already had and used an MSN email account through my ISP.
The main benefit is that my calendar, contacts, and email are all in one place even though I can see them on my desktop, Axim, or other any other computer using Hotmail. Plus, in January when Outlook 2007 is released, I will be able to upgrade with my subscription.

This works beautifully, Justice_AA. Thanks for posting the steps. I have the latest version of Outlook Connector, Activesync 4.5 and Outlook 2002 SP3.
My next goal is to try to figure out how to do Activesync through wifi with Activesync 4.5. I doesn't sound like it can be done at this point.
